“This Luxfer glass tile was patented by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1897. These glass tiles were used in shops, homes and dwellings to add light to rooms and were combined in a leaded frame, usually above a door or window. The purple color hue is due to manganese used in the manufacturing of the tile. ”This tile was used in windows and is seen in many of the existing examples of work, these are smaller and were used in the borders mainly."
